For some time I have known that the simplest and most economical way to beautify any room is to install a crown molding. The material and installation costs of crown moulding are well below the expenses associated with other remodeling enhancements. Crown molding can make the difference between the everyday and the awe inspiring. High density polyurethane mouldings, however, bring the inspirational to a higher level. The classic design motifs available in polyurethane are either not possible in wood crown moldings or beyond the economic ability of most homeowners. The expenses associated with the installation of a plaster cornice are equally out of reach for most. Designers of our polyurethane moldings have realized what could not be accomplished in wooden or plaster moldings. Our designs and attention to detail will far exceed that of ordinary crown moulding. As a bonus, the installation of polyurethane mouldings can be simplified with the use of our pre-mitered inside and outside corners, corner drops and center keys. If you do not want to miter “butt” and corner joints, use our pre-mitered pieces for ease of installation as well as beauty. Installation is similar to installing wood crown molding with the exception that a construction adhesive should be used. A few finish nails are required to hold the moldings until the adhesive sets. Afterward the glue sets use a painter’s caulking and sand the joints as you would with a wood molding.
