Our polyurethane ceiling domes and medallions are embellishments for your ceilings. They are typically centered in a room with a ceiling fixture centered in the dome/medallion. With the advent of polyurethane, as a construction material, ceiling domes and medallions have become accessible to homeowners that could not afford the more traditional plaster ceiling ornaments. The advantage of polyurethane domes and medallions, however, go beyond costs alone.
Polyurethane is lighter and thus easier to install. In fact, most (at least the smaller medallions and domes) can be installed by do-it-yourself homeowners with a little construction adhesive and a few finish nails. The larger domes will require an extra pair of hands or two and, in some cases, some framing work on the ceiling.
Secondly polyurethane is not as prone to cracking as is plaster. You are not likely to ever have to fill gaps or cracks in polyurethane as you would plaster.
The first thing you will notice about our domes and medallions is the large array of sizes and designs. Our dome and medallion pieces range in size from 12 inches in diameter to 80 inches ( that is almost 7 feet in diameter). They are designed with classic lines and motifs in the most rigorous production standards. So what is the difference between our Medallions and Ceiling Domes. Medallions are all flush surface mounted. Their thickness range is from 1 1/8" to about 3 1/2". Our ceiling domes are, on the other hand, mostly recess mounted.
