Synopsis: White Oak Mantel



I'm not sure what style this mantel surround fits in. I'm fairly certain that is was built close to the turn of the 20th century.  The wood species is white oak though probably veneered from the looks of the grain pattern.  These are called double mantels by some because they are sort of a mantel on top of a mantel.  The columns are Corinthian columns because of the ornate capitals on top.  I actually photo-shopped the mirror out of the top because of the silly reflection in the mirror.
